Here is what Jo has to say about how her book series began:

“In the summer of 2012, I received a call from a wrong number. It was an older gentleman attempting to call his home healthcare nurse but got me instead. He was 87 years old and had recently lost his wife of 68 years. We ended up talking for four hours and developed a wonderful friendship. He loved telling stories of his childhood and of the wonderful years with his beloved wife and the adventures they went on together.

When we finally hung up, I wondered at all the calls that have been misplaced. What if one of those calls not only had a personal impact, but the call was so important, it affected generations on a global level? Thus, The Old Man and The Watch was born”.
